After the failed protest by the Turkish Basketball Association due to the mistake of the match in the European Cup against Georgia, there are legal consequences.
Due to the decision of the world association FIBA, TBF announced on Tuesday that it wants to go before the International Court of Arbitration for Sport CAS.
“We do not accept this decision by FIBA,” said the association, “we will assert all our rights.” Turkey lost the game in Tbilisi on Sunday against the host (83: 88 aet2.a.).
Turkey threatened to withdraw
The Turks previously threatened to pull out of the tournament after being accused of physically assaulting NBA professional Furkan Korkmaz. Korkmaz was said to be on the field after being ejected in the fourth quarter during the game against Georgia. TBF Vice President Ömer Onan said.
In addition to the players, security forces were also involved in the attack. The Turkish delegation demanded the release of camera footage. FIBA is still investigating this matter.
